What are 2 things we, as university students, spend too much time doing? Scrolling our phones and drinking wine! So why not make the most out of both with these awesome wine apps?

Vivino (Free, available on Andriod and iOS)
So you'll always know what wines you've tried and what you and others thought of them
Photo label recognition quickly scans a wine bottle label and brings up information for the wine such as reviews, ratings, and tasting notes from other users and the manufacturer
Save your favourite wines to go back to the next time you're shopping
Keep a personal or public journal to record all your notes for each bottle
Brings up recommendations for other similar wines, perfect if you enjoyed a bottle of wine but want to try something new
Order wine from within the app
Hello Vino (Free, available on Andriod and iOS)
If you need help finding the perfect food and wine pairing
The app offers many features to recommend the correct wine for the correct occasion. Specify what you are looking for through options like ‘Wine with a meal/ food”, “Wine for an occasion”, “Wine by taste preference”, “Wine by type/ variety”, etc. From here, the app will prompt you for even more information (such as the type of food/ meal)
Wine recommendations provide a detailed overview of the wine, tasting notes and flavour, reviews, alcohol content, where it was made, and where you can buy it

Know Your Wine (Free, available on iOS)
To build your wine knowledge
This learning app teaches and tests the fundamentals of wine, designed to be done casually over a longer period of time
Know Your Wine offers short modules about different wine topics, including definitions and grape and regional varieties. Then, test your knowledge with short quizzes and review what you got wrong.
Revisit the questions and answers from module quizzes or start over if you want to brush up on your knowledge

Wine Ring (Free, available on Andriod and iOS)
The social wine recommendations app
This app offers a number of features similar to Vivino, but its main focus is to provide wine recommendations
Use the easy rating scale of Love It, Like It, So-So, or Dislike, for any wine you drink, and the app will use those ratings to generate suggestions for other wines to try
Set up a profile with detailed wine-tasting preferences for even more accurate recommendations
Not sure what kind of wine to get for a present or serve at your dinner party? No problem! Wine Ring offers a social component by enabling you to add friends, explore their tasting preferences and recommended wines, and can even create groups to allow Wine Ring to suggest wines that will be best suited to the whole group’s preferences.
